‘Love is always patient and kind’ St.Paul. Today’s Reading
Some people will have grown up in a loving environment which enables them to understand and experience within themselves what our Creator is like.
St. Paul tells us that ‘Love is always patient and kind’. Instead of the word ‘love’ we can substitude ‘God’..for God is always patient and kind. I can get so impatient with myself and with others, wanting change and wanting it now but our God is always patient.
Patience does not come from ourselves. It is one of the fruits of the ‘Spirit. It is of God, as also is kindness.
‘Love can be felt as a warm affection towards another. It is wonderful to sit quietly at the end of a day and allow this heartfelt warmth to take over. In our humanity we have limitations but the fruits of the Spirit keep growing in us.
‘Love does not come to an end’ God’s love is such that it expects nothing back and we are all invited to live this. Have no expectations of others. ‘Love is always ready to excuse’. Many people are hurting and have never experienced a loving environment, have never felt accepted or wanted as children but the good news is that healing is possible. The past can be healed but living in the past does not heal us. Don’t let life pass you by. Be aware of those wonderful moments when you connect with another, when you meet another, when you share with another …. Communion.
