‘The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice. ‘Today’s Gospel.’

‘The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice’.
Have you ever sat and wondered what it is you are made for, what your vocation is in this life, what occupation, profession or trade it is you feel called to?

Well today is the day of prayer for vocations. Usually we associate this with religious life but many lay people I know live a spirit filled life, living out their vocations in a quiet God filled way – they are indeed the hands and feet of Jesus.

Today’s Gospel says ‘The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice’ I need to quieten my mind down, to relax and let go, to let the world go by without getting caught up in the materialism or the rushing about, to listen within so to discover what it is I am being called to.

Many are searching and the answer lies deep within our own hearts. What do I feel called to just for today?

God has created me for some specific task. I may never discover what it is in this life but wouldn’t it be wonderful if I did.

We all belong to God and through Jesus, God gives us the gift of eternal life. I am invited to open the gift. A.S.
