Today my young niece who is 7 years of age went down on her knees, joined her hands in prayer and then gave me a big smile.

All this when she heard the Church bell ringing out. We are all called to be open hearted and receptive like children.

As adults we tend to complicate everything and wander far away from the basic message of Christianity. We have built a huge structure around this message and around Christ himself. He never intended this to happen.

Today Trinity Sunday is celebrating the creative flow of love
exchanged between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Through Christ all of
humanity is included in this love. Only in God is rest, tranquillity and true unity to be found as everything human has limitations. Where else do we get the grace and strength from to go through the many trials and challenges of life. Jesus – the beginning and end of our journey – also our friend along the way.

We are all called to the fullness of the Christian life, to grow in love and to develop and mature as human beings.

With my little niece this morning I could only think of St. Therese way of spiritual childhood – the way of total surrender to our loving God. Help me Trinity God to be open hearted and receptive like a little child. A.S.
