The only time I have is this present moment. So often my attention is in the past or off in the future.

The only time I have is this present moment. So often my attention is in the past or off in the future. I need to keep bringing my attention back to the present moment as it is here that we find God and God finds us.

Today we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord which once again is a celebration of the Resurrection. As the host is lifted up at Mass it is a symbol of our ascension in the Risen Christ. There is a part of ourselves that needs to be special, to stand out, to seek power and attention – we need to let all of this go to be Jesus’ disciples.

“And know that I am with you always; yes to the end of time”. Our mission as his disciples and friends is to allow the presence of God be felt through us, for “I am with you always” Jesus is saying this to each of us now. He knows our weaknesses, he experienced them but God can work in every detail of our lives even in these weaknesses.

May we continue to say “yes” to God everyday. All is gift. All is grace. We are a Risen people and we just need to become aware of it, in ourselves. “Be still and know that I am God” and “I am with you always”. Praise God for those precious little moments each day.
