The Assumption of Mary is a participation in Christ’s Resurrection and gives us hope that we too will share in Christ’s glory and live fully in God. Mary, taken up into heaven, shows us the way to God, the way to heaven, the way to life and fulfilment. She is the person who listens to the Word of God, ponders it in her heart and keeps it despite difficulties. She recognises the call of God in the things of creation, the things that happen in life which are the voice of God.
