As the days of light get shorter and shorter, there is an invitation to an unhurried pace in the circle of life.
Now is the time for withdrawal and restoration of energy. It is about going into the darkness, waiting for the light and being open to new growth in our inner being.
All of creation needs some time to pause and have its energy renewed. So do we humans. Winter offers us the gift of essential renewal.
Because of the uncomfortable conditions of winter, it is natural not to value this season. The same is true of our interior winters. The human spirit needs rest and silence. Winter provides this opportunity so we can slow down and refocus our direction & purpose in God’s plan for our lives.
