Summertime

Summer is with us.  It is just wonderful.  It’s the Season of light and delight, colour,  creativity and abundance.Everything out there is bubbling with life and music. 

 Take time to look and see:  take time to listen and hear.  Discover something of mystery, notice traces of the Divine in everything and in every creature.   Be there in the midst of it all in wonder and awe, what is hidden may gently unfold before us.  We may find the pathway mapped out for us from all eternity, we may stumble on the essence, the heart of life, contentment within. 

Even Summer can have its rays and shades and the circumstances of all our lives can vary   

but it is important for us to remember the verses:

 ”We are companions on the journey
We are travellers on the road
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and share the load”

 We are not isolated pebbles on the beach. We are meant to watch out for one another.
Together we can find the way and climb any mountain ahead.

 This is a wonderful Parish. We are in it together. We are all part of one another’s story. There is so much involvement, goodwill and co-operation. It is a joy filled experience to be part of it all.  A new dimension has been added recently. We are now part of a Cluster of Parishes or it could be called a Pastoral Unit. The Parishes that form this Cluster are: — Baltinglass, Hacketstown and Rathvilly. In this Cluster, there are 10 churches or Mass centres. The priests who will minister in this new Pastoral Area are Frs.Tommy Dillon and Sean Maher, Baltinglass, Fr. Michael Kelly, Rathvilly, Fr. Joe Brophy, Talbotstown and Ticknock and Fr. Jim McCormack, Hacketstown. 
So don’t be surprised if you see a different celebrant from time to time.

The Season of Summer gives us again the opportunity to be as much as possible, out of doors in the cathedral of nature and become refreshed and fit in mind, heart, spirit  

and body and become that blessing to the world and to others that we are meant to be.

So let’s go, breathe in the Summer air and enjoy what is abundant and free……
